USS Lake Erie (CG-70) is a Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser commissioned on July 24, 1993, and homeported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She is named in honor of the Battle of Lake Erie, Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's decisive victory over the British during the War of 1812. Lake Erie has distinguished herself as a leader in ballistic missile defense — most notably, on February 20, 2008, she successfully intercepted a malfunctioning U.S. spy satellite, USA-193, in a mission designated Operation Burnt Frost. This product commemorates her 1997 deployment, during which Lake Erie conducted operations in the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf as part of carrier strike group operations. Wear it with pride to honor the officers and crew who served aboard CG-70 that year.
