USS Midway (CVA-41) 1963-64 Cruise Sweatshirt

USS Midway (CVA-41) was one of the U.S. Navy's premier attack carriers in the early 1960s. The 1963-64 cruise took Midway and her air wing to the Western Pacific during a period of escalating American involvement in Southeast Asia. By late 1964, the Gulf of Tonkin incidents had brought the United States to the brink of full-scale involvement in Vietnam, and Midway's carrier air wing would soon be called into combat. This sweatshirt commemorates that transitional and historic deployment.
