USS Midway (CVA-41) 1972-73 Cruise Sweatshirt

USS Midway (CVA-41) was on station for one of the most intensive air campaigns of the Vietnam War during the 1972-73 cruise. Midway and Carrier Air Wing 5 participated in Operation Linebacker I and II — the massive bombing campaigns that forced North Vietnam back to the negotiating table — as well as Operation Pocket Money, the mining of Haiphong Harbor. The Paris Peace Accords were signed in January 1973, making this one of the most consequential of all Midway's Vietnam deployments. This sweatshirt commemorates that historic cruise.
