USS Mitscher (DDG-57) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned in January 1994 and named for Fleet Admiral Marc A. Mitscher, one of the most distinguished naval aviators of World War II. This sweatshirt marks the ship's 1996 maiden deployment, during which Mitscher operated with the Atlantic Fleet conducting presence operations and exercises.
