USS New Jersey (BB-62) 1989-90 Cruise Sweatshirt

USS New Jersey (BB-62) made her final deployment with the Pacific Fleet on her 1989-90 cruise, joining the last generation of Sailors to serve aboard a commissioned U.S. Navy battleship. Recommissioned in 1982, New Jersey had given the Navy nearly a decade of renewed service during the Reagan-era fleet buildup. As the post-Cold War drawdown approached, this cruise became one of her final voyages before decommissioning in February 1991. The battleship was subsequently donated to Camden, New Jersey, where she serves as a memorial and museum ship.
