USS Princeton (CG-59) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser homeported in San Diego, California. Commissioned on February 11, 1989, Princeton is named for the Battle of Princeton fought during the American Revolution in January 1777. This sweatshirt commemorates her 2013 Western Pacific deployment, during which Princeton operated with the U.S. 7th Fleet conducting maritime security operations, ballistic missile defense, and theater security cooperation throughout the Indo-Pacific. Princeton earned enduring fame for surviving a double mine strike in the Persian Gulf on February 18, 1991, during Operation Desert Storm, an incident that became a landmark case study in damage control and crew resilience.
