USS Ranger (CVA-61) was on station in the Western Pacific when the Gulf of Tonkin incident occurred in August 1964. Ranger's air wing flew strikes in Operation Pierce Arrow — the retaliatory raids against North Vietnamese naval facilities — and subsequently participated in the opening months of Operation Rolling Thunder, flying strike missions over North Vietnam as the United States committed to full-scale air operations. This cruise marked Ranger's first combat deployment of the Vietnam War.
Honor the 1964-65 combat cruise with this classic crew-neck sweatshirt featuring cruise artwork from the deployment. Pre-shrunk fleece construction, ribbed cuffs and waistband, and a comfortable relaxed fit.
