USS San Jacinto (CG-56) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser commissioned on January 23, 1988, and homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. Named for the battle that secured Texas independence in 1836, and distinguished as the ship that launched the first Tomahawk missiles in Desert Storm, CG-56 remained a frontline fleet combatant throughout the late 1990s. This sweatshirt commemorates the Sailors of USS San Jacinto who deployed in 1998, conducting fleet operations in support of carrier strike groups and national security commitments abroad.
