USS San Jacinto (CG-56) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser commissioned on January 23, 1988, and homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. Named for the battle that won Texas independence in 1836 and forever linked to the first Tomahawk strikes of Desert Storm in 1991, San Jacinto continued her distinguished service as the fleet transitioned into the new millennium. This sweatshirt commemorates the Sailors of CG-56 who deployed in 2000-01, conducting carrier strike group operations and fleet missions across the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and beyond at the dawn of a new era of naval operations.
