USS San Jacinto (CG-56) is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser commissioned on January 23, 1988, and homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. Named for the battle that won Texas independence and renowned as the ship that launched the first Tomahawk missiles of Desert Storm in 1991, San Jacinto remained a vital fleet combatant into the post-9/11 era. This sweatshirt commemorates the Sailors of CG-56 who deployed in 2002-03, operating in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom as San Jacinto contributed to the global war on terrorism following the September 11 attacks.
