USS Saratoga (CV-60) was the second Forrestal-class supercarrier, commissioned in 1956 and named for the Revolutionary War Battle of Saratoga. Originally designated CVA-60, she was reclassified CV-60 in 1972 and deployed repeatedly to the Mediterranean with the Sixth Fleet through the Cold War. Saratoga served until her decommissioning in 1994.
This heavyweight letterman jacket commemorates Saratoga's 1985-86 deployment, which included operations in the Gulf of Sidra off Libya in 1986.
