USS Saratoga (CVA-60) 1963 Cruise Sweatshirt

The USS Saratoga (CVA-60) was a Forrestal-class attack carrier commissioned on April 14, 1956, and homeported at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. Named for the 1777 Battles of Saratoga. The 1963 Mediterranean deployment was among the most consequential of the Cold War era, as the Sixth Fleet maintained constant forward presence during a period that included the Cuban Missile Crisis aftermath and the November 1963 assassination of President Kennedy.
