USS The Sullivans (DDG-68) is an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer commissioned on 19 April 1997. She is named in honor of the five Sullivan brothers — George, Francis, Joseph, Madison, and Albert — all lost when USS Juneau (CL-52) was torpedoed during the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal on 13 November 1942. Their sacrifice inspired the Sole Survivor Policy. Homeported in Mayport, Florida, The Sullivans completed her maiden deployment to the Mediterranean Sea in 1999-2000, operating with the 6th Fleet. This sweatshirt commemorates that historic first deployment.
