This framed photo captures USS Ranger (CV-61) at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii — a routine waypoint for the West Coast carrier on transits to and from her seven Vietnam combat deployments and her later Persian Gulf and WestPac cruises. Pearl was the Pacific Fleet's hub of refueling, replenishment, and crew liberty before the long leg into the Western Pacific, and the sight of a Forrestal-class carrier moored alongside Ford Island was a familiar one across Ranger's thirty-six-year career. This framed ship photo is a tribute to her crew and the bond between the Pacific Fleet's hardest-deployed carrier and the harbor that sent her west, time and again.
