USS Alexandria

Commissioned in 1991, the Alexandria is a 688i Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine named for the historic northern Virginia city across the Potomac from the nation's capital. One of the improved variants of the class, she carries vertical launch tubes for Tomahawk cruise missiles and full under-ice capability. The Alexandria served the Atlantic Fleet for over 20 years before her decommissioning in 2016.
