USS Antietam

The Antietam is a Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser commissioned in 1987 and named for one of the Civil War's bloodiest battles. Armed with the AEGIS combat system, she served as the primary air defense ship for carrier strike groups across the Pacific. She has deployed to the Persian Gulf and Western Pacific dozens of times, guarding the carrier from threats above, below, and on the surface. Her crew has kept watch through some of the Navy's most consequential moments.
