Commissioned on August 11, 1962, USS Barney was a Charles F. Adams-class guided-missile destroyer, homeported at Naval Station Norfolk. She served the Navy for 28 years before decommissioning on December 17, 1990. Her crest carries the memory of every Sailor who served aboard her.
