Commissioned on May 15, 1982, USS Boone was a Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigate, homeported at Naval Station Mayport. She served the Navy for 30 years before decommissioning on February 23, 2012. Her crest carries the memory of every Sailor who served aboard her.
