USS Bulkeley

Commissioned in 2001, the Bulkeley honors Vice Admiral John D. Bulkeley, the PT boat commander who smuggled General Douglas MacArthur out of the Philippines in 1942 through Japanese-controlled waters—earning the Medal of Honor for the mission. Bulkeley went on to a lifetime of combat leadership and became one of the most decorated officers in American naval history. The Bulkeley serves the Pacific Fleet.
