Commissioned in 1967, the Camden is a Sacramento-class fast combat support ship that served the Pacific Fleet through the Cold War—one of the four AOEs that revolutionized underway replenishment by combining fuel, ammunition, and stores in a single hull capable of matching carrier battle group speeds. She was the logistical backbone of every battle group she supported, decommissioned in 2005 after 38 years of service.
