USS Chicago

Commissioned in 1986, the Chicago is a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine named for Illinois's great lakefront city—the city of big shoulders that has shaped American commerce, culture, and history for two centuries. She served the Pacific Fleet across three decades of Cold War and post-Cold War undersea operations before her decommissioning in 2014.
