USS Chosin crest

The Chosin, commissioned in 1991, is a Ticonderoga-class cruiser named for the Chosin Reservoir—the brutal 1950 Korean War battle where U.S. Marines and Army soldiers fought their way through encircling Chinese forces in bitter cold. The survivors of that campaign became known as 'The Frozen Chosin,' Marine Corps legends of endurance under impossible conditions. Her ship has carried that toughness into every deployment, year after year.
