USS Coral Sea

The "Ageless Warrior" earned her nickname by fighting right up until the end. Commissioned in 1947, the Coral Sea served through the Vietnam War and the Cold War, always smaller than her contemporaries but never lesser. She launched strikes in Vietnam, participated in the strike against Libya in 1986, and served in the Persian Gulf during the Iran-Iraq War. Her crews knew they were sailing on history, and they were proud to do it.
