USS Georgia

Commissioned in 1984 as SSBN-729 and converted to a cruise missile submarine (SSGN) in 2008, the Georgia now carries up to 154 Tomahawk land-attack cruise missiles and serves as a platform for special operations forces—exchanging strategic deterrence for conventional precision strike at a scale no previous submarine could match. Named for the Peach State, she continues to serve as one of the Navy's most potent conventional strike assets.
