USS Honolulu

Commissioned in 1985, the Honolulu is a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine named for Hawaii's capital city and the site of Pearl Harbor—where the surprise attack that brought the United States into World War II made the Pacific Ocean the defining theater of American naval history. She served the Pacific Fleet for 21 years before her decommissioning in 2007.
