USS John A. Moore

Commissioned in 1981, the John A. Moore is an Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate that served the Pacific Fleet through the Cold War. Named in honor of a Navy officer of distinction, she performed the anti-submarine warfare and maritime patrol missions that kept the sea lanes open during one of the most tense decades of the Cold War. She was decommissioned in 1995 after 14 years of fleet service.
