(FFG-32)
USS John L. Hall
Commissioned in 1982, the John L. Hall honors Admiral John L. Hall Jr., one of the Navy's most experienced amphibious warfare commanders, who planned naval gunfire support and landing operations for some of the most complex Allied amphibious assaults of World War II—including Sicily, Salerno, Normandy, and Anzio. Hall's expertise helped make the Allied landings in Europe possible. The John L. Hall was decommissioned in 1997.
