USS La Jolla

Commissioned in 1981, the La Jolla is a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine named for the coastal Southern California community above San Diego—a city synonymous with the Pacific Fleet, Naval Base Point Loma, and American undersea warfare on the West Coast. She served the Pacific Fleet for nearly three decades before her decommissioning in 2008.
