USS Little Rock crest
Little Rock started life as a Cleveland-class light cruiser in World War II and was reborn as a guided-missile cruiser in the 1960s. She spent much of her later career flying the flag of Commander Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean — a symbol of American naval presence during the Cold War's most volatile decades. Decommissioned in 1976, she's now a museum ship in Buffalo, New York, one of the best-preserved examples of Cold War naval power still afloat. Few ships get to serve twice. Little Rock earned both lives.
