USS McClusky (FFG-41) was an Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigate commissioned on 10 December 1983 at Bath, Maine. Named for Lieutenant Commander Clarence Wade McClusky Jr., who led the decisive dive-bomber attack at the Battle of Midway in June 1942 — his bold decision to extend the search for the Japanese fleet resulted in the sinking of three enemy carriers and turned the tide of the Pacific War. McClusky was subsequently awarded the Navy Cross. FFG-41 served the Pacific Fleet until her decommissioning in 1992.
