USS Minneapolis-Saint Paul

Commissioned in 1984, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul is a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine—one of the few American submarines to bear a hyphenated city name, honoring both cities of Minnesota at once. The twin cities share the Mississippi headwaters and a long tradition of military service; it is fitting that they share a submarine. She was decommissioned in 2008 after 24 years of Pacific Fleet service.
