USS Montpelier

Commissioned in 1993, the Montpelier is an improved 688i Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine named for Vermont's tiny but proud capital city—the smallest state capital in the country by population, in a state with an outsized tradition of military service. She has served the Atlantic Fleet since commissioning, patrolling the Atlantic and Mediterranean for three decades.
