Commissioned on July 27, 1985, USS Providence was a Los Angeles-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, homeported at Naval Submarine Base New London. She served the Navy for 37 years before decommissioning on August 22, 2022. Her crest carries the memory of every Sailor who served aboard her.
