(FFG-60)
USS Rodney M. Davis
Commissioned in 1987, the Rodney M. Davis honors Sergeant Rodney Maxwell Davis, USMC, who was killed in Vietnam in September 1967 after throwing himself on an enemy grenade to save the lives of his fellow Marines—an act of selfless sacrifice that earned the Medal of Honor posthumously. The Rodney M. Davis served the Pacific Fleet until her decommissioning in 2014, among the last Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates in U.S. service.
