USS Russell (DDG-59) 1996 MAIDEN DEPLOYMENT Unisex Sweatshirt

USS Russell (DDG-59) conducted her maiden deployment in 1996 following her commissioning on May 20, 1995. An Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer homeported at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Russell sailed with carrier strike group forces in the Pacific during that inaugural cruise, establishing herself as a capable multi-mission combatant. Armed with the Aegis Combat System, Standard Missiles, and Tomahawk cruise missiles, Russell provided air defense, surface warfare, and precision strike capability throughout the deployment.
