USS Sampson (DDG-102) 2009-10 MAIDEN DEPLOYMENT Unisex Sweatshirt

USS Sampson (DDG-102) conducted her maiden deployment in 2009-10 following her commissioning on November 3, 2007. An Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer named for Rear Admiral William T. Sampson, the naval hero who commanded American forces at the Battle of Santiago de Cuba during the Spanish-American War, DDG-102 departed on her inaugural cruise equipped with the Aegis Combat System and the full suite of multi-mission capabilities. Homeported at Naval Station Everett, Washington, Sampson sailed with carrier strike group forces demonstrating her readiness as a multi-mission combatant. This sweatshirt honors the Sailors of DDG-102 who served during that first deployment.
