USS Shiloh crest

The Shiloh, commissioned in 1992, is a Ticonderoga-class cruiser named for the 1862 Civil War battle—one of the bloodiest engagements of the entire war. Homeported in Yokosuka, Japan as part of the forward-deployed naval forces, she serves as the AEGIS air defense shield for the Seventh Fleet's carrier strike group. Her crew lives and works at the sharpest edge of American naval power in the Western Pacific, standing watch year after year in one of the world's most strategically vital regions.
