USS Texas

Commissioned in 2006, the Texas is a Virginia-class nuclear attack submarine named for the Lone Star State—the second-largest state, a state with a naval tradition as big as its geography. As a Virginia-class boat, the Texas represents the Navy's 21st-century approach to undersea warfare: multi-mission capable, quieter, and more flexible than any attack submarine that came before. She continues to serve the fleet.
