USS Wyoming

Commissioned in 1996, the Wyoming is an Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine named for the Equality State—the first state to grant women the right to vote. She carries 24 Trident II D5 ballistic missiles and patrols the deep ocean as one of the 14 Ohio-class boats that form the sea-based leg of America's nuclear triad. Named for a state defined by open spaces and independence, she serves in the most isolated environment imaginable: the deep sea, alone, and ready.
