VA-25 Fist of the Fleet

Attack Squadron 25, the Fist of the Fleet, flew the A-7 Corsair II and A-6 Intruder in the attack role for the Pacific Fleet across three decades—striking targets in Vietnam, providing close air support, and conducting strike missions through Desert Storm. One of the Navy’s most decorated medium attack squadrons, the Fist of the Fleet earned its name on the flight decks of West Coast carriers from the Cold War through the 1990s before disestablishment in 1993.
