VAQ-139 Cougars

The Cougars of Electronic Attack Squadron 139 fly the EA-18G Growler from NAS Whidbey Island, providing electronic attack and suppression of enemy air defenses for carrier strike groups across both fleets. Founded in 1983 and transitioning from the EA-6B Prowler through the Growler, the Cougars have evolved continuously to maintain the Navy's electronic warfare edge against increasingly sophisticated adversary systems. Their claws are on the electromagnetic spectrum—and they never let go.
