The Pukin’ Dogs of VFA-143 carry one of naval aviation’s most distinctive and storied names, flying the F/A-18E Super Hornet from NAS Oceana and deploying with the Atlantic Fleet. Their rampant dog emblem has been on carrier decks since the 1950s, and the Pukin’ Dogs have struck targets in virtually every theater where American carrier aviation has operated across seven decades. Few squadron names are better known, and fewer still have the combat record to back it up.
