USS Ranger was the third Forrestal-class supercarrier, commissioned as CVA-61 in 1957 and the only ship of her class to serve her entire career in the Pacific Fleet. Redesignated CV-61 in 1975, she made repeated Western Pacific and Indian Ocean deployments until her decommissioning in 1993.
This heavyweight letterman jacket commemorates Ranger's 1974 Western Pacific deployment, a Seventh Fleet cruise during the drawdown of American forces in Southeast Asia.
