USS Bonhomme Richard

Named for John Paul Jones' famous Revolutionary War ship, the Bonhomme Richard served the Pacific Fleet from her commissioning in 1998 until she was tragically lost to fire in 2020. Homeported in Sasebo, Japan as the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship in the Western Pacific, she projected American power across the Indo-Pacific for over two decades. The fire that took her could not erase the memory of her service, or the pride of every sailor and Marine who ever sailed on her.
