USS Hawes

Commissioned in 1986, the Hawes is an Oliver Hazard Perry-class guided-missile frigate that served the Atlantic Fleet through the Cold War and the post-Cold War maritime security era. Like all ships of her class, she performed the convoy escort, maritime patrol, and anti-submarine warfare missions that made the Perry class the backbone of Cold War surface forces. She was decommissioned in 2010 after 24 years of fleet service.
