USS Houston

Commissioned in 1982, the Houston is a Los Angeles-class nuclear attack submarine named for Texas's largest city—a city of oil, space exploration, and American ambition on the Gulf Coast. She served the Pacific Fleet across three decades before her decommissioning in 2012, one of the longer-serving boats of the Los Angeles class.
