USS Peleliu

Named for one of the Pacific War's most brutal battles, the Peleliu carried the Marine Corps' fighting tradition into every ocean from her commissioning in 1980 to her decommissioning in 2015. The last of the Tarawa-class ships, she deployed to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean, and Persian Gulf—always ready to project power from the sea. She helped evacuate American citizens from conflict zones and supported combat operations through three decades of service. The Peleliu fought hard to the very end.
