The Port Royal, commissioned in 1994, is the final Ticonderoga-class cruiser built—the last ship of the most capable class of guided-missile cruisers in the world. Homeported in Pearl Harbor, she has served in the Pacific Fleet throughout her career, deploying to the Western Pacific and Persian Gulf as the AEGIS guardian of carrier strike groups. As the last of her class to be constructed, she carries the full legacy of the Ticonderoga program on her keel.
