USS Rushmore

The Rushmore, commissioned in 1991, is named for the South Dakota mountain bearing the faces of four of America's greatest presidents—a name that speaks to the enduring ideals the Navy defends. She served in the Pacific Fleet, deploying regularly to the Western Pacific and participating in exercises and operations with allies throughout the Indo-Pacific region. Her crew carried the weight of that name with pride in every deployment, representing the best of American amphibious capability.
