VFA-132 Privateers

The Privateers of VFA-132 flew the F/A-18A Hornet as one of the original Hornet squadrons in the Atlantic Fleet before disestablishment in 1992—part of the transition generation that took carrier aviation from the single-mission era to the multi-role world of the F/A-18. Named for the licensed pirates who preyed on enemy shipping in American history, the Privateers lived up to their name in every mission they flew from Atlantic Fleet carrier decks.
